Well, unfortunately there is no sure method to secure Your data from hackers/crackers, viruses or hardware failure. However, there is a few ways to enhance the data stored on information medium will be safe.

 

• remember to run scandisk program regularly
• run regularly a deframnentation program
• always close operating system using a proper command or button. Closing computer using a "power" or "reset" button may cause a file system failure and damage you data.
•  make sure you CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and hard disk drive are fasten properly and are not expose to overheat, (przepięcie) and vibration
• install in you PC a proper system temperature regulator adapted to work condition of your computer
• install good antivirus protection, and if you work in network - firewall as well
• apply RAID 1 system or similar
• if you do a system backup make sure you are using tested and branded mediums
• try not to work on compressed drives (this may reduce chance to recover you data)
• turn on S.M.A.R.T. system
• an the most important: do system backup regularly!!!
